Spring Break, baby!

I have not felt the need for a break this badly for a long time.  I am tired, I am stressed. And the irony is I really love the work I do. It is high energy and challenging and that suits me well. But for some reason I am worn out right now.  I am very glad to be away from the demands for a week.

I started thinking about vacations in general.  They are so important to our well being. The human body and mind can only take so much before they start to become worn down.  The upcoming break is pretty much all people talked about for the last week.

“What are you doing for Spring Break?’

“Where are you going?”

“I can’t wait to sleep in!”

One of the common factors among educators is the enforced vacation schedule.  Some people complain about having to travel when the fares are inflated and wouldn’t it be nice if we could travel in January when everything is dirt cheap?

My response to that  is as they say in preschool:

“You get what you get and you don’t get upset.”

We get a week off; what’s wrong with that?

And it seems to come at just the right time.

  1. So true, Susan. I never even thought about the fact that our vacation scheduled in enforced. It really never crossed my mind. I love your attitude – we’re lucky to get the time off!

Enjoy, de-stress, and relax! See you in April!

  2. I agree, Susan. This year, in particular, I was really in need of this spring break. Enforced or not, I’m grateful for it!
